Episode 17, "Running into Bad Weather" (Printable Version)

Scene 1--KIOU News Station

Night fell quickly over San Diego, the storm didn't give any signs that it was going to let up but it show that it was going to get worst. The station seemed to be calming down, it was the third time the station had to go on air in the middle of a network program to give an update on the severe storm that caused havoc in San Diego. The camera men took a quick second to make sure everything was still working properly just in case they had to go on air again.

Laddie walked over to the anchor desk roughly removing his microphone from his suit jacket "Where the hell is our Executive Producer when you need him? This is the third time we had to break programming without clearance!"

"I don't this isn't like Maurice." Sharon shook her head disappointed in her best friend, she feared some of his poor judgments like sleeping with someone's wife was beginning to take a toll on him and his priorities

Laddie sighed frowned and stormed off, "Someone needs to fire that irresponsible son of a bitch!' he whispered.

Sharon snatched off her microphone and hurried to the back, hoping to find Maurice. She turned around the corner and noticed Eva's office door open. "Eva?" she called out peeping her head in

Sharon walked in noticing the pictures on her desk, she figure she see what kind of story Eva has cooked up. She picked up the pictures and choked when she realize it was the pictures of Felicia and Demetrius making love.

"Oh my god. Has she been doing this?"

"May I help you with something?" Eva sternly asked finding Sharon in her office.

"Tell me you're not going to use these!" Sharon whispered in horror.

Scene 2--Interstate 5

The night storm clouds covered San Diego, as the lighten created a light show all over the skies, thunder rumbled as if God was banging a bass drum and the heavy rain it made nearly impossible to see out of any window.  A black Pontiac 2007 Grand Am splashed through a huge puddle which cause the car to swerve a bit as it merged on the San Diego exit.

"Do I need to drive?" Travis asked Felicia as he tighten his seatbelt, as the lighten quickly flash across the dashboard. He sighed from the annoying screeching sound from the wind shield wipers.

Felicia ignored Travis question and turned up the radio and began to sing along, "Let me show you...Let me show you the way to go!"

Travis turned the radio back down and glared at Felicia, "You really need to concentrate on the road."

"Are all of you Sterlings this bossy?" Felicia snapped back growing angry with Travis.

"Excuse me for wanting to live!" Travis growled.

"This rain is getting very heavy!" Felicia complained squinting her eyes so she could see through the glass.

"Perhaps you should pull over and wait it out!" Travis suggested blankly, he ran his fingers through his hair growing very frustrated with Felicia. He began to doubt his decision to side with his father on promoting Felicia.

"No I need to get home to my family." Felicia whispered, but what she really meant was Demetrius.

Travis climb in the back seat and made himself comfortable, "Wake me when we are back home."

Felicia rolled her eyes and huffed, "Pampered punk." she whispered to herself.

"Alright Travis sure!" she answered merging on the next lane without looking.

Scene 3--The Sterling Building

The lights flickering and wind howling didn't seem to phase Demetrius who sat in a daze, staring out the window. Lately things have been hectic at work and were beginning to get a little unstable at home. For months, his affair with Felicia has been going on and everything has been fine, until someone found out about their affair and decided to take pictures of him and Felicia in action. Demetrius stomached turn sour remembering the day he got a copy of the pictures while having dinner with his wife Melanie.

Confused Demetrius took the envelope from Paul, he waited for him and Melanie to go take care of the check before he opened it.

Demetrius gagged from seeing the photo of himself and Felicia making love.

"Who the hell could've done this!!"

He quickly put the photo back in the envelope as Melanie approached the table.

"My god honey are you ok? All of sudden you look pale." Melanie pointed out, touching his forehead.

"I'm not sure I think it was something I ate" Demetrius decided to play into Melanie's concerns and fake sick.

"Watching everything crash before your eyes Sterling?" William sneered walking into Demetrius' office. William got Felicia's voicemail about coming home late once again and wasn't happy about it.

"What do you want, William?" Demetrius asked coldly walking over to his desk, the last thing he wanted was to argue with him.

"Tell me something when are you finally going to let my wife come home?"

Scene 4--Anthony and Paige's House

Paige brought Maurice a warm towel so he could dry himself off, she sat down beside him on the couch and began to cry again. "What's next?"

Maurice shrugged taking off his drenched shirt, "Your asking me? Pretty soon the whole world is going to know about us."

"Please cover yourself or something!" Paige couldn't bear to look at Maurice's chiseled chest as a time like this, as much as she tried to fight it she really love that man...more than her husband.

Maurice wrapped the towel around his shoulders then turned and looked at her with hurt in his eyes, "Why are you doing this?"

"Maurice we are breaking someone's heart!" she whispered through her tears.

"What about the your heart, Paige? Aren't you tired of yours being broken." Maurice asked Paige wiping away her tears.

Paige sat back in and thought to herself for a minute, "When Anthony was promoted to Captain of the police squad, he worked day and night...I was lucky if I saw him once a week."

"Maurice I felt neglected...and that day to you took me out to dinner, it was the best night I ever had since his promotion. And that first time you kissed me..."

"Shhh!" Maurice put his finger to Paige's lips then kissed her lovingly.

Paige wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back accepting the fact that she love another man who wasn't her husband.

"Come with me!" she softly instructed standing up.

Maurice grinned then picked up Paige in his arms and carried her upstairs.

Scene 5--The Sterling Building

Melanie storm through the hall to Demetrius' office on a mission, she wanted to get to the bottom of this fiasco between Felicia and Gloria and why her husband had been spending so much time with her.

Jeffery stepped out of his office and scratched his head noticing his distraught mother in law, "Mel, everything alright?"

Melanie stopped and approached Jeffery fixing her hair and clothes, "Is it true that Gloria quit today?"

Jeffery reluctantly shook his head, "things are really getting out of hand here!"

"So I've heard...what do you think is going on?"

Jeffery crossed his arms and tapped his left foot contemplating on whether he should be discussing this matters with Melanie, he sighed coming to the conclusion that it didn't matter, she would find out sooner or later.

"I think my wife quitting was a very bad blow to the company and honestly I don't know what's going to happen next."

"Well I do...listen Jeffery how much stock do you have in this company?"

"Well...between Gloria and I...quite a few." he answered, he wondered what Melanie had up her sleeve.

"Great." Melanie uttered with a smile, "I want you to talk to Randy...if we all put our stocks together we can get Felicia out and put Gloria back in."

Jeffery grinned, he was unaware of Melanie's business side but it was side he like especially if it meant getting his wife back in.

"Well if you'll excuse me...Demetrius and I need to have a talk."

Scene 6--The Morrow House

The thunder rumbled loudly as Anthony followed Leona into the living room lit by non scented candles, "I just stopped by to see if you all were ok... How long have the lights been out?"

"For about thirty minutes." Leona sat down on the sofa and smiled motioning for her son to come and sit down beside her

Anthony timidly joined his mother, he still felt guilty for how he treated her the past month...she tried to warn him of Paige's affair but he didn't listen and now he is paying the price for it.

"Listen mom, I'm sorry for everything. You were right about the whole thing and I..."

Leona quickly hugged her son then kissed his cheek, "Ant, I understand."

Anthony smiled through his pain and sadness, "I wish I knew what to do now?"

"You'll be fine."

Anthony shrugged, he looked around the room hoping that his mother wasn't home alone in the terrible storm, "Where's dad and Gino?"

Leona giggled and pointed to the screen door, "They're outside struggling to get the generator working."

Anthony sighed in relief, "Ok." he stood up, "Listen mom I need to go...I want to go home and see if Paige is ok."

Leona stood up and kissed Anthony on the forehead, "Be safe."

Anthony nodded hurrying out into the rain, the thunder rumbled loudly causing Gino to nearly fall as he rushed in, "Ma, Dad is going to get me electrocuted out there!" he exclaimed in fear.

Leona sighed then and shook her head with a faint laugh, "Only your father."

Scene 7--KIOU News Station

"Mind telling me what you were doing in my office unattended?" Eva sneered as she walked over to her desk. She hoped Sharon chose her words wised because she if didn't Eva didn't mind slapping the shit out of another person tonight.

Sharon glared at Eva, "Where did you get these pictures from?" Sharon feared Eva was the person who was taunting Felicia by sending her pictures of her making love to Demetrius.

"I don't think that none of your business."

"Are you using these for a story?"

"I think the world should know about all the wrong doings of this town starting with Paige...and Felicia!" Eva exclaimed pacing around the room.

Sharon gasped realizing Eva knew about Maurice and Paige, "Eva..."

"Eva what?"

"...please don't take your frustrations out on everyone else think about all the people you're hurting!" Sharon begged.

"Think about all the people that have been hurt! I'm doing Melanie and William a favor...they deserve better anyway."

Scene 8--Anthony and Paige's House

Anthony drove his 1984 Ford Mustang into the garage, he took the key out of the ignition and sat back exhaling. "Captain, what are we going to do now? he asked himself.

"Anthony Morrow...I'll love you with all my heart. Now and Forever!" Those were the words that Paige said to him on their wedding day. On that day those words made him the happiest man in the world...now they sickened him.

Anthony slowly got out of the car and adjusted his police belt then patted his 9mm as he walked into the kitchen. He turned on the light switch and smiled relieved that the lights hadn't gone out here yet. The lighten flashed through the window as he reached into the refrigerator for a cold beer, he took a swig then sat it on the counter.

A soft moan echoed into the kitchen causing Anthony to become alarmed, "Paige?"

Anthony took out his gun and crept up the stairs and pulled out his gun in fear that Paige could be in trouble as the moans grew louder.

Anthony quickly opened the door and pointed the gun at the bed as Paige came up from the covers.

"Oh my god...Anthony!" Paige yelled in fear as she pushed Maurice off of her.

Maurice quickly hopped out of bed and threw on his boxers, "uh...umm!! Anthony?!? Oh shit!! umm!!"

Anthony stood at the door motionless, it was bad enough that Paige was cheating on him but with of his best friends. "I'll love you with all my heart...Now and Forever!"

"Forever came today huh?"

Scene 9--The Sterling Building

Demetrius walked over to end table over by the window and sat down facing William, "What are you whining about Jones your wife isn't even here!"

"Sure Demetrius...tell me anything." William folded his arms and approached Demetrius, "I'm not leaving here until you tell me what is going on between the of you."

Demetrius stood up and adjusted his loosened his tie and unbuttoned his top button on his dress shirt, "You're really getting on my last nerve."

William laughed to himself, "You know what blows me about you? You act as if you've done nothing wrong...You've torn my family apart!"

Demetrius stared blankly at William, how did he find out? Demetrius heart dropped he knew William had the upper hand the only thing he could do is come clean. "I'm apologize William...we never meant for this to get out of hand.

William grew confused and placed his hands on his hips trying to figure out what Demetrius was talking about. William was referring to Felicia constantly being at work and missing out on their family. "Hold on...wait a minute??"

William took his hand and slowly wiped hand down his face putting on the signs together...Felicia and Demetrius always meeting each other, Felicia coming home late, and never wanting to make love anymore. All this time she'd been with sleeping with Demetrius. "This all makes sense, now!"

"You and Felicia were sleeping together!"

"Is it true Demetrius?" Melanie asked slowly walking in, she threw his blackberry on the desk and approached the two, "Have you been having an affair with Felicia."

Demetrius' throat tightened, and palms grew sweaty, this was it...everybody figured out the truth before the pictures could even get out.

Interstate 5

Felicia sighed wiping a circle through the fogged windshield, she'd grew annoyed by the squeaky sound of the windshield wipers.

"I'm glad you're able to sleep through this!" she whined looking back at Travis who snored softly in the back seat.

She focused her attention on driving in the heavy rain and the forceful wind, she checked the gages to make sure everything was fine. The speedometer read 65mph, the gas was half full and the oil light wasn't on which gave comfort to Felicia who was nervous about driving in the terrifying storm.

"God please, let us make it back safely." she whispered to herself, seeing Demetrius' face one more time meant the world to her. She frowned remembering that their secret was no longer a secret, someone had proof she was sleeping with another man and thought back to the day she got those devastating pictures during the fashion show.

"Everything alright?" Sharon asked walking up behind her.

Felicia turned to her showing her the letter, "I got this from someone I designed a dress for, she wanted to thank me." she said softly with a grin.

Felicia laughed from excitement, ripping it open, there was a white piece of paper in the envelope she took it out handing it to Sharon the envelope.

"Now three of us know." she read aloud. "What is this talking about? this is isn't a thank you note?"

"Oh my god!" Sharon exclaim as held the photo, "Felicia I don't know if I should show you this?"

Felicia looked at her sister beginning to get nervous as she noticed the fear in Sharon's eyes, "Sharon what is it?"

Felicia gasped looking at the picture, "oh my god...it can be...Sharon...who would do this." she exclaimed holding her chest as tears began to stream down her face.

The wrong way sign brought her back to reality very quickly as she realized she was in the lane of the on coming traffic. She quickly turned the car to the right causing the car to run off the road, the car began to flip once it hit a small dip.

"Oh my god!" Felicia screamed holding the steering wheel looking around in fear.

"What the hell Felicia?" Travis exclaimed sitting up looking around terrified by seeing everything go in circles, he scrambled to put his seat belt on as the back window blew out. "Ah..." Travis yelled letting go of the seat belt without buckling it as the broken glass severely cut his face.

"Travis!" Felicia looked back and watched horrified as the wind blew in and sucked out the broken glass along with Travis like a vacuum.

The car landed back on it's tires and mud carried it into a tree, causing Felicia to hit her head on the steering wheel.

She struggle to lift her head off the wheel but fell unconscious leaving the sound of the horn piercing through the horrid sounds of the thunder and dreadful wind cries.
