Episode 21 - "It's Not Alright" (Printable Version)

Scene 1-Warner Funeral Home

The sun shined directly on Sharon Hensley as she stood at the bottom of the old marble steps of the funeral home, she took a deep breath that turned into a yarn, while adjusting her sunglasses. Last night, she barely slept thinking about Felicia and the task that was bestowed on her today. She and Maurice always talked about planning his wedding when and if he got married. Sharon laughed a bit remembering that she promised Maurice she would jump out of cake for him at his bachelor party. Only thing, she never thought she would be one of the ones planning his funeral.

She wiped a tear from her cheek, and walked up the steps to the church, "Your loved ones final resting place." she whispered to herself reading the sign on the door, as she entered through it.

"I didn't think you'd make it." Alex said standing up from the wooden bench, he gave a weak smile, he lost one friend and the other one was in jail and another one was in a coma fighting for his life.

"This is one for the books isn't it?" Alex uttered struggling to keep himself from crying.

Sharon looked up at Alex and hugged him tightly, "We have to be strong...for Anthony and Travis and be thankful Maurice doesn't have to suffer anymore."

Alex sighed, agreeing with Sharon. "I guess you're right."

Jasmine cleared her throat as she walked out of the bathroom wiping her hands with a paper towel. "Hi, Sharon." she uttered softly. Jasmine usually didn't speak to Sharon because she was the woman who took Brad away from her and ruined her little brother's life but after Maurice's death she figure life was too short for silly grudges and she was happy with Alex.

"Hi...Hi Jasmine." Sharon whispered caught off guard by Jasmine acknowledging her.

Alex looked at both women, he knew it was uncomfortable for both of them. "Come on let's go."

Scene 2-St Marks Memorial Hospital

The nurses' station was empty compared to the last few days since Travis' car accident. Gloria walked out of Travis room, growing tired of watching her brother in an endless coma. She wonder was this her brother's final hours, was he ever going to wake up. Did she even want him to wake up and find out how Demetrius cheated on their mother with Felicia, the woman who nearly killed him. She closed her eyes letting a tear fall down her face, Gloria did want her brother to wake up...she want to let him know that she was sorry for everything.

Gloria opened her eyes and frowned becoming disgusted, watching Joshlynne approach her.

"Why are you here?" Gloria asked sternly.

Joshlynne sighed, "You still manage to be so cold at a time like this...Travis is my friend."

"And so is my father, who you're probably here to see, instead of my brother.." Gloria replied, she knew about Joshlynne and Felicia's little game to get Demetrius, but never thought her father would succumb to either one of their seductions.

Joshlynne crossed her arms becoming angry, "Listen I don't want..."

"...You know I wonder what the prize was?" Gloria asked interrupting Joshlynne.

"Excuse me?"

"What did the winner get after they boned my father? But then again it doesn't matter since you're not the winner."

Joshlynne gasped embarrassed and offended by Gloria's statement. "Not today Gloria." she snarled before heading to the elevator. She stopped midway noticing Demetrius sitting in the waiting room in a daze, the grim look on his face cause Joshlynne to frown as she approached him, it even made her feel guilty about taking part in ruining his marriage.

"Hey." she quietly spoke as she sat down beside him, "How are you holding up."

Demetrius laughed a bit and glanced up at Joshlynne, rubbing his chin. "I can't call it."

Scene 3-The Sterling Building

The phone rang continuously on Tiffany's desk as she attempted to compose a statement on behalf of Sterling Clothing Inc. on the release of photos that showed Demetrius, Sterling Clothing's CEO and Felicia, their fashion designer making love. It was probably a news reporter trying to get a comment on this devastating situation that could ruin the company. She banged her hands on the desk infuriated, how could her brother be so stupid? She grabbed the phone cord and snatched it out of the phone.

"This is too much." Tiffany moaned massaging the temples of her forehead, attempting to calm herself down.

"Tell me about it." Jeffery muttered, walking into Tiffany's office reviewing a few documents in a vanilla folder, "What are we going to do about this mess?"

Tiffany sat back into her seat and frowned, "I have to do what's best for the company." she replied.

"And it's just not Demetrius and Felicia. Paige our P. R. is in hot water too."

"Oh yeah, that's got to be something being caught by your husband then watching him shoot your boyfriend."

Tiffany nodded head at Jeffery agreeing with him, "I guess we're going to have to knock this thing out ourselves."

"Jeffery, I want Felicia's ass out of the company!"

"Tiffany, we can't fire her...it'll be adding more fuel to the fire."

Tiffany stood up growing angrier by the minute, if she fired Felicia because of her affair with Demetrius. Felicia could take out a sexual harassment lawsuit on Sterling. "What am I doing to do now?"

Jeffery crossed his arms and reminded himself of Gloria's plan, "Tiffany, don't close the casket yet. There may be a way to fix this."

Scene 4-The Sterling Mansion

Bonita walked down the stair, smoothing her ponytail and adjusting her apron. She wore a grim frown on her face, finding out that Travis was fighting for his life after suffering injuries from a car accident scared her. The man she loved all of her life may die and all of the work she has done would've been for nothing.

Walking into the living room she turn up the television watching the images of Demetrius and Felicia being plastered on screen. It's been a day since those pictures were first aired and they were still hot.

"Eva actually did it." she whispered sticking her hands in the pockets of her uniform. After the rejection she got from Eva when she gave her a copy of the pictures showing Demetrius and Felicia in bed together she didn't think she'd used them. It gave her a small joy in the midst of all this turmoil.

"Can you turn that off!" Gloria instructed walking into the living room from the kitchen, checking her emails on her smart phone.

Bonita rolled her eyes becoming annoyed at Gloria's presence as she turned the TV off. Bonita began wiping off the glass coffee table with a few paper towels she stuffed in her apron, if it looked like she was doing her job maybe Gloria would leave her alone.

Gloria put her phone away and stormed over to Bonita and the table, "Excuse me? What are you doing, that'll scratch that table...you have to use a cloth!"

"Why don't you leave me the hell alone?" Bonita thought to herself as she frowned, "I'm so sorry Gloria. I didn't know."

"That's common sense sweetie, haven't you cleaned a piece of glass?"

"Well some glass can be cleaned with a paper towel!" Bonita answered back rudely.

"Well this one has to be cleaned with a cloth Bo-ni-ta!"

Gloria crossed her arms, and glanced down at the table, "My brother Travis gave this to our mother, so it means a lot...especially now."

"You of all people should've have to remind me about Travis...I loved him more than any of you could." Bonita glared at Gloria as she balled up the paper towels in her hand, she approached Gloria, then walked past her and into the kitchen.

Scene 5-Warner Funeral Home

Sharon ran her finger down the side of the dark brown oak wood casket, she studied hoping she wouldn't find a scratch or dent in the coffin that Maurice would be laid to rest in. She patted the top of the casket deciding this was the one she wanted for Maurice as tears began to fall down her cheek.

"Here you go." Jasmine whispered handing Sharon a tissue, she looked at the casket then back at Sharon, "This is nice."

Sharon grinned slightly as she wiped her eyes, "Thank you for the Kleenex and the complement. I know today is difficult for you also. Being around me can't be too amusing."

"Sharon..." Jasmine uttered glancing over at Alex and the funeral director finalizing some of the funeral plans, "... you and your sister are two different people."

"I don't blame you for Felicia's actions. My main concern right now is my brother's health."

Alex approached the two, then looked at the casket and smiled, "I think Maurice would like this."

Sharon chuckled softly, "He'll have plenty of elbow room."

"Maurice did always want his space." Alex recalled holding Jasmine's hand, he shuttered as tears streamed down his eyes. "Hard headed son of bitch...I really going to miss him."

"Come on let's go." Jasmine whispered in Alex's ear leading him towards the chapel. "Bye Sharon."

Sharon smiled and waved, then turned to the casket that Maurice would be laid to rest in, "I wonder what's next." she asked herself.

"What are you doing here?" Sharon asked looking towards the door of the funeral director's office.

Scene 6-The Morrowian Bistro

Joshlynne watched Demetrius stir his spoon around in his tomato soup, she talked him into coming with her to get something to eat. The grim look on his face ate away at her, since she was responsible for telling Marsha that Demetrius would be home in bed with Felicia the day she took the pictures of them making love. She knew he would be heart broken when everything came out but she never imagine it would be this devastating, but she came to far to quit and she was determined to be the next Mrs. Demetrius Sterling...at all cost.

Joshlynne reached across the table and rubbed Demetrius' hand, "Everything is going to be ok."

Demetrius looked at Joshlynne's hand then looked at her, "I keep telling myself that."

"But my son is fighting for his life and my family doesn't want anything to do with me...so you do the math." he jokingly uttered.

"Travis is going to wake up!" Joshlynne assured him, "There's no need to worry about that...I have faith it will happen."

Demetrius nodded then looked away, "I can hear my sister's mouth now. She's going to fry my ass and probably have Felicia's head on a platter."

"Demetrius..."

"Joshlynne when I find out who took those pictures, I'm going to see to it that their life is full of misery until death!"

Joshlynne looking up fearful of his threat, she sighed deciding that he would never know what she did, "Demetrius you are strong man...and if anyone can't get those this you can."

"Demetrius I'm here for you, if you need me."

Scene 7-Warner Funeral Home

Sharon crossed her arms becoming very defensive, she wasn't mad with Paige but she wasn't going to welcome her with open arms. This was the last place that Paige should be, being that she was part of the reason Maurice was deed.

"What are you doing here Paige?"

Paige walked past Sharon and placed her hands on the casket that was picked for Maurice is, "Is this the one he'll be put it?" she asked softly.

"Yes....Paige, you being here is not a good idea." Sharon advised approaching Paige.

"I never meant for any of this to happen." Paige whimpered with tears in her eyes, "I was torn in between the two."

Sharon exhaled, she really didn't want to hear Paige's explanation, "Listen, Paige..."

"...Sharon you are my friend...please don't shut me out!" Paige sobbed.

"If I knew any of this was going to happen I would've never..."

"Don't you say it!" warned Sharon stopping Paige in her sentence, "Don't say you never would've done if you knew that things would've ended this way."

"Sharon please..."

"I think it's best if you leave." Sharon whispered before walking into the funeral director's office.

Scene 8-The Sterling Building

Tiffany crossed her arms and starred at Jeffery interested in hearing what he had to say, "What have you been cooking up?"

"I beg your pardon?" Jeffery requested gluing his eyes to the folder.

"You just said there may be a way to fix all of this. How can we do that?" Tiffany asked sitting up in her chair, hopefully some good would come out this.

"I figured this would happened." Jeffery muttered referring to the documents he just finished reading in the folder, he closed it shut then focused his attention back to Tiffany.

"A major stockholder in Sterling has a huge say in what goes on in the company."

"and right now that's my father." Tiffany replied not sure how she could get her father to side with her, Demetrius was always her father's favorite and their father didn't think Demetrius could do any wrong. "I'm not sure how we could do that. Daddy owns over half the stocks in Sterling."

"Jeffery he's not going to give that up."

"But all we can show him that someone other than Demetrius is more fit to run the company. We can get him to come around." Jeffery noted.

"Or we could all band together and vote my brother out." Tiffany grinned.

"Melanie was going to do that to get Gloria's job back but if we vote him out and put someone...like you in. We can get Gloria back also." Jeffery planned crossing his arms, he liked when a good plan started to come together.

Tiffany grinned standing up, she grew excited her biggest dream was to own her father's company, "This is good stuff."

Scene 9-The Sterling Mansion

Marsha stood in the middle of the wine cellar staring at the dreadful sight that was in front of her. The chair that had been home to the captured Carmella for weeks was empty.

"Oh God!" Marsha whimpered looking around, if Carmella somehow managed to get out of the cellar and found someone her plans to kidnap Lisa would be over.

"I knew I should've tied her hands back together." Marsha whispered creeping through the wine cellar, "Carmella where are you? I have food for you."

"Come out...come out!"

Carmella noticed Marsha tiptoeing around the corner and grabbed a wine bottle, she was going to escape but she had to get pass the woman who put her down in this ratchet wine cellar. Carmella turned the bottle up as she snuck up behind Marsha, the back of her head was the perfect target.

Carmella's grunt as she swung the wine bottle at Marsha's head signaled Marsha to turn quickly and duck, with the bottle barely missing her face.

"What the hell?" Marsha exclaimed, reaching in her apron for the gun she kept in the pocket, "Carmella you stop it right now!"

"You let me go!" Carmella quickly swung the wine bottle at Marsha's head once again determined to get free herself from this nightmare but missed once again.

Marsha found her gun and quickly pointed at Carmella then pulled the trigger three times sending a bullets into her chest.

Carmella fell to the ground squirming, struggling to breath, she looked up at Marsha and reached for her signaling for her help. Carmella gasped softly for a few more seconds then her arm fell to the ground as she took her last breath.
