Episode 3 | Safe Dealings

Last time on Euphoria

Richard and Lydia confronted Victor about his claims of being their late father's son. Victor told them that the first time he met their father, he gave him a car. The same car that Lydia wrecked when she was a teenager. After realizing that Victor could be his brother, Richard asked Victor for a DNA to prove that he was indeed a Blake.

Grace was confronted Dominique who accused her of bringing Victor Conrad into town to cause trouble for their family. Their argument got ugly after Dominique flipped over Grace's food in her lap.

C'est La Vie Resturant

"Grace, this story is too funny to my life." Khindra Locke squealed in laughter. She looked over at Christina, who was ready to bust out of her seams trying to hold her giggles in. "Girl, you can laugh! Grace isn't going to do anything to us."

Grace crossed her arms sitting back in her chair, she wasn't amused that her sisters found her confrontation with Dominique Blake comical. "Nice to know that I have sisters who have my back."

"Calm down, sissy." Christina said finishing her spinach omelet , "You know we'll look out for you no matter what."

"Exactly." Khindra added, "Plus, you two are always at each other's throat...nothing new."

"Now that I think about it. Christina goes tit for tat with Lydia too." Khindra added, "Maybe I should get a rival."

"Oh shut up." Christina said chuckling.

"Because of that bitch, I was left with nothing. I'm always going to give her hell." Grace growled, "As soon as she came back into town, Richard divorced me. Then fired me from Euphoria Magazine and turned my son against me."

"This story again?" Khindra moaned, "Girl, that was six years ago. Let it go!"

"Khindra is right. You are back on your feet now." Christina said taking a sip from her glass, "Turn your negative energy into some positive energy and put it into your new magazine."

Grace smiled adding wine to her glass, "Exactly what I have done. Ambition Magazine will be the best and Richard Blake will wish he never betrayed me."

"Well on that note, I have to run. It's my turn to take mother to the doctor." Khindra rose from the table, she left her part of the tip down on the table, kissed her sisters and pranced out.

"This was nice." Grace said with a warm smile, she sipped from her glass. "All of us spending time together."

Christina rolled her eyes reading her sister, "You can cut the bullshit now. What are you up too?"

"Meaning?"

"Richard Blake will wish he never betrayed me!" Christina repeated her sister, "I know you too well. What else do you have planned?"

The Blake Penthouse

A day off from the office came far and few between for Manning Nelson which is probably why he enjoyed stomping around in his boxer briefs and flip flops. He walked out of the kitchen with the morning paper and a cup of coffee. He sat in his favorite chair, kicking his leg up and opened the paper.

"Looks like someone has the day off." Andre said shooting downstairs, he kissed Manning's forehead. "While others have to slave for a living."

Manning nodded, "This is like the first one in months." he said chuckling, he pulled Andre into his lap and kissed his neck, hoping for a little morning romp before Andre went to the news room. "Let me send you off to work the right way."

"Baby, I'm going to be late." Andre groaned, "You know Uncle James hates when we're late for a news meeting."

"Shut up and kiss me." Manning whispered before pressing his lips against Andre's. The door bell rung.

Andre chuckled, "Save by the bell!" he teased, he went to the door to see who it was. "Manning go put some pants on."

"Why?"

"It's my father." Andre answered. Manning shot up the stairs and Andre opened the door and smiled, "Dad, what brings you by?" he asked.

"I needed to see Manning." Richard replied letting himself in, "Is he in?"

"Right here." Manning exclaimed coming down the stairs. Andre waved bye and left. Richard closed the door for his son.

"Manning, I wanted to talk to you about a few things."

"Yessir, What's going on Mr. Blake?"

"I need to deal with this man who claims to be my brother and I want you to help me do that."

The Euphoria Magazine Newsroom

"Rossy-poo, you are going to O.D. on coffee." Shannon teased watching her brother fix his fourth cup of coffee. "Suffering from lack of sleep?"

Ross cut his eyes at Shannon, "Something like that."

"What going on?" Shannon inquired as she took out her compact mirror to fix her make up, "Is everything alright with you and Janae?"

"Not really." Ross said adding cream to his coffee, "And you didn't help the situation either."

"I know. I meant to apologize for that comment." Shannon uttered sitting down at the break table, "I really made it worse didn't I?"

Ross shook his head, "No worse then what they already were. We aren't seeing eye to eye on having a baby." he flashed his sister a soft smile, he looked up when Andre walked into the break room. He dropped his messenger bag on the table and joined his siblings, "What's the move ya'll?"

"Just chatting before the news meeting." Shannon said taking Ross' cup of coffee, she took a sip from it then passed it to Andre.

"I always hated when you two passed my shit around." Ross groaned.

Andre chuckled, "Whatever, it reminds of that we're all we have." he said after taking a drink. He passed it back to his brother, "Dad came by today."

"For what?" Shannon asked resting her jaw on her fist.

"Not sure." Andre responded, "He wanted to talk to Manning. I was late so I left."

"Knowing pops, if it wasn't concerning you he'd probably would've put you out anyway." Ross said.

"He's probably trying to figure out how to deal with our "uncle". Shannon said sticking a piece of gum in her mouth.

"Whuck! Something I don't want to talk about." Andre said getting up, "Off to the news meeting."

"Off to the news meeting." Ross said agreeing with his little brother, he and Shannon left with Andre.

The Blake Penthouse

"Arrange a DNA test?" Manning asked to make sure he heard correctly. He came out of the kitchen with two glasses of brandy and soda, "You actually believe this guy is your brother?"

Richard took a glass from Manning, he sampled it, "I don't want him to be but it looks like it. Lydia and I talked to him a few weeks ago."

"He told of something that confirms it."

"Alright, well I'll be in contact with the lab and Victor as well to set everything up." Manning said taking a seat in his favorite recliner.

"Thank you." Richard said with a smile, "You know our relationship has come a very long way."

Manning laughed, "I'd say a whole 360 Degrees. Mr. Blake you hated me!"

"I've always wanted to apologize for the way I treated you when you and my son started dating."

"Mr. Blake, I let it go along time ago." Manning said finishing his drink. "Water under the bridge, sir."

Richard finished his drink as well then stood up, "I have to get going, but I want you to get in touch with me once the plans have been made."

"Will do." Manning said standing up, he and Richard walked to the door, they shook hands.

Richard opened the door and stopped, "Also one more thing."

"Yes?"

"This DNA test has to prove that Victor Conrad is not a Blake. I won't have a stranger coming into my company ruining things."

"You do realize what you are asking of me right? And the consequences?"

Richard nodded and patted Manning on the shoulder, "I hope I can count on family." he replied then left.

Manning closed the door, he felt uneasy about the request but hearing Richard called him family meant a lot to him and he knew what he had to do.

C'est La Vie Restaurant

"You know I still need to hire an editor and planned the launch party for Ambition. I've been thinking about Madison's or the Jay Spot?" Grace said popping a few pretzels in her mouth, she looked up noticing her sister's blunt stare. "What?"

Christina crossed her arms, "I have a feeling you've done something to cause trouble for Richard Blake and his family."

"You can't prove it!" Grace smirked, eating more pretzels.

"Sissy! Please tell me you didn't bring that man into town." Christina asked, "I thought we got passed this."

Grace grinned, "Like I said you can't prove a thing."

"You are going to destroy yourself trying to bring down Richard Blake."

"Trust me little sister, the only person going down is Richard and his family. Everything single last one of them!"

Christina sighed, she looked down noticing she had a missed call. "Khindra called?"

"Call her back." Grace said drinking her water.

"What is it, my love?" Christina said, her face went pale hearing Khindra's sobs. She looked at Grace, "What is it?" Grace asked.

"We have to go. Khindra found Mama unconscious. They rushing her to the hospital now."

"Let's get out of here!" Christina and Grace rushed out of C'est La Vie fearing that their mother could be dead.
