Episode 4 | The Poison in the Message

Last time on Euphoria

During lunch with her sisters, Grace in so many words tell them that she has a plans of bringing her former husband down to her knees. They then learn that their mother was rushed to the hospital.

Richard visited Manning Nelson and asked him to arrange a false DNA test that proved Victor Conrad was not his brother.

Ross told Shannon that his desire to start a family was beginning to drive a wedge in his marriage to Janae.

 Christina Munroe glanced back at her sisters then tugged at her ponytail watching her mother continue to shout and pull away from the nurses while they attempted to check her vital signs and calm her down. "Let the nurses do their job."

"I wish you and everyone else would leave me the hell alone!" Diane demanded after being bombarded with numerous concerned questions from doctors, nurses and now her daughter. She sighed in anger, shooting all of her daughters dirty looks. She swatted at the nurse who continued to poke and probe at her, "Can someone please get me out of this damn hospital room. I want to go home, damnit!"

"Doctor Taylor, let me go home!" Diane screamed seeing Doctor Carlin Taylor float to the foot of her bed. He wore a cheerful grin on his face, he looked back at Grace and her sisters, "Is she always like this?"

"Only when she's feeling good." Grace replied with her hands rested on Khindra's shoulders to comfort her, "Doctor Taylor what is going on? My sister Khindra found her unresponsive and now she's back to normal."

"Where's Nana?" Andre demanded barging in with Barren, they walked over to Diane's bed making her more angry, "Khindra who else did you call?"

"And don't you two come asking me all of these damn questions either." Diane snarled, "Doctor Taylor get everyone out of my room!"

"Her blood pressure is rising again." one of the nurses informed Carlin, he nodded. "Ok listen, why don't I talked to all of you outside."

He walked to the door and opened it for everyone to let them out. He looked back at Diane and winked at her then closed the door.

"Can you please tell us what's going on?" Grace asked, "None of this is making sense?"

"I found her unresponsive an hour ago and now she is back to normal?" Khindra chimed in.

Carlin sighed "We ran some test on your mother and we found some questionable drugs in her blood stream."

"Well she started on some new medication for her diabetes." Christina said, "Maybe that's what it is?"

Carlin shook his head, "This drug was used to temporarily paralyze your mother. We think your mother may have been drugged."

While waiting for the elevator, Victor Conrad looked down at his watch the at his plane ticket . He was taking a trip that was much needed, it would answer all of the questions he had plus give him all of ammunition he needed to prove to everyone that he was Blake. He clutched his suitcase tighter and exhaled, the elevator doors finally opened.

Victor looked up and seeing a face he remembered from his father's funeral, "Hello." He said politely stepping in the elevator.

"Going somewhere?" Manning Nelson asked pushing the elevator button for the lobby floor, he reached in his navy blue suit jacket and pulled out a small envelope.

"That's none of your business." Victor kindly responded, "No offense but I don't give out personal information to strangers."

Manning chuckled nodding his head, "I understand. I'm not here to be your friend, only carry out business."

Victor smirked, "You must be one my brother's bitches. He pimping you out to do his dirty work?"

Manning growled he had second thoughts about carrying out Richard's request but Victor's attitude made it easier to ruin him. "I am Richard's attorney and as far him being your brother...that hasn't been confirmed yet"

Manning handed Victor the envelope, "Read that and act accordingly." he said as the elevator doors opened. Manning darted out.

Victor stepped out of the elevator, he dropped his suitcase and opened the letter, he smirked reading it. "My father's last will and testaments." he said to himself as he continued to read, "And I must report for a DNA test today?"

"A quick detour then to the airport." Victor said with a smile, "This trip and this DNA test will knock those Blake's right off their asses."

Richard put down his glass of water then looked around the round table at his top executives who listened to James Myrick concluding his pitched for the cover for the March issue of Euphoria.

"Will we be addressing Bill Faye Blake's love child?" one of the executives asked.

Richard shook his head, "Not until we know for sure. I don't want any false news being printed out."

"What is someone beats us too it?"

"We will handle that when the times comes." Richard hissed.

"And that will be all." James said closing his notebook. "If there aren't anymore questions then that's it."

As everyone poured out of the the conference room, Manning walked in closing the door, "I'm glad you two are here." he said walking over to James and Richard.

"What do you need?" James asked packing his messenger bag, "Make it fast, I have to get back to the newsroom."

"Can you give this to your wife?" Manning said pulling out two envelopes similar to the one to the one he gave Victor. "And Richard this one is for you?"

"Is this what we talked about?" Richard asked taking both of the envelopes from Manning, he passed one to James, "That was quick."

"Well look, I have to go." James said heading out, "I'll be sure to give this to my wife."

"So the DNA test says he isn't a Blake right?"

Manning shook his head, "No, I'm off to take care of that now. Just read that and I'll see you soon."

"Oh?" Richard said as Manning left, he opened the envelope and frowned reading the letter that informed him of his father's will reading, he also looked down and noticed that Manning included all parties who were to report as well.

"What the hell is Grace doing on this list?" he asked himself.

"This is too crazy." Andre asked walking up to Khindra and his mother, "Who would've wanted to hurt Nana?"

Khindra reached over Grace and grabbed a tissue, "I was a little late picking her up for the doctor. Maybe if I'd gotten there on time.." she whimpered.

Grace shook her head, "No! You weren't supposed to be there. Don't blame yourself."

'Then whoever it was could've hurt you." Andre said pulling her into her arms, "We just have to work together to figure out what happen to her."

"And we will, but we all need to be careful because whoever it was could be after us too." Grace said glancing out in the hall way, she saw what looked like to be Victor going into Doctor Taylor's office, "I'll be right back." she said getting up to get to see if it was him.

Khindra looked at his mother's hospital door, "Who would want to harm my mother?" she wondered.

"What's bothering you?" Christina asked walking over to Barren who stood by window, he stuffed his phone back in his pocket, "Who was that on the phone?"

"Steven Taylor." Barren said pulling Christina into his arms.

Christina laid her head on Barren's chest, "Your father? You haven't heard from him in years."

"What did he want?"

Barren sighed, "He'll be in town and wants to have dinner with Malik and I."

"Are you going?"

Barren nodded, "I want to see my little brother. He just finished grad school and I'm excited to see him."

"Just not my father." Barren said, "Disaster is that man's middle name."

"Let's just hope everything will play out alright." Christina said kissing Barren's cheek.

Barren smiled, "Let's get back to your family."

"What are you doing here?" Grace asked stomping over to Victor as he stepped out of the hospital room, putting his jacket back on.

"Can you believe those motherfuckers made me take a DNA to prove my paternity? I just finished it." Victor growled, "What are you doing here?"

"My mother's in the hospital." Grace said, "We just learned that someone drugged her."

"Oh wow, are you alright?" Victor asked picking up his suitcase.

Grace nodded, "I'll be alright. I have to be strong for my sisters." she looked down noticing his suitcase, "Where are you going?"

"Out of town." Victor responded, "I'll be back soon." He smiled then walked off walking past Manning they both frowned at each other.

"Grace!" Manning called out, noticing her by the nurse's station, "How is Diane?"

"It like nothing ever happened. She's up talking and being her normal self." Grace said, "Doctor Taylor thinks someone drugged her.

Manning scratched his head, "That's serious!"

"Exactly." Khindra said walking up with Andre, "Thanks for coming Manning."

"Agreed. Thanks babe." Andre said kissing Manning's lips. Andre felt the envelope in Manning's jacket and pulled it out, "What's this?"

"It's your mom's." Manning said. Grace tooked it from her son, she opened it, "William Faye's will? I have to be there?"

"Yes." Manning said, they all looked back watching the nurse stick her head out of Diane's room, "You all can come back in now. She's sleeping."

Manning stayed back as everyone went back into Diane's room, he walked over to the nurse's station, "Doctor Taylor, can I have a word with you?"

"Yeah, can I help you?"

Manning smiled, "I have a proposition that could change your world." he said putting his hand on his shoulder leading him away from the nurse's station to sell Richard's plan of altering Victor's DNA Test.
